UK registered SME’s can apply for a share of up to £2.4 million for the purpose of developing innovative proposals with Germany. You must collaborate with at least one German SME applying under the equivalent German ZIM programme.

This is a joint call with the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWE) (The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy) that oversee Germany’s ZIM programme.

Innovate UK welcomes applications from the following sectors:

• Clean Energy
• Life Sciences
• Engineering Biology

Projects must be led by an SME. UK partners grant funding request can be between £100,000 and £350,000 per project.

Please note that the deadline for applications is 1 December 2026.
